Problem with my monitor/computer

My monitor was on a 1600x1200 setting.

Last night, it shut off(and computer also, problem with power surge I think) and when I restarted, I could only get it to 1024x800. Now I've restarted again, and got it to 1280x1024

I've tried everything and now I come to you guys for assistance to turn it the 1280x1024 to 1600 x 1200. I don't need new componets as I've gotten 1600 x 1200 before my computer shut off last night.

If it shut down abruptly, a driver file could have been corrupted. Download the latest drivers for your video card from the manufacturer's site and install them.

Also, I think the power surge is the problem since it makes a sound and turns off my computer [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img].
