Default Re: 2+2 private tables on 8/30

The bet into me on the turn caught me off guard. I thought he might either have a weak J or a weak Q so I peeled one off. When he c/r me on the river i can't see him betting into me on the turn with AT or 9T. I figure he must have a weaker two pair so I think for a while then 3 bet.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (5 handed)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
UTG folds, Hero raises, Button folds, SB folds, stheif09 calls.

Flop: (4.40 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
stheif09 checks, Hero bets, stheif09 calls.

Turn: (3.20 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
stheif09 bets, Hero calls.

River: (5.20 BB) K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
stheif09 checks, Hero bets, stheif09 raises, Hero 3-bets, stheif09 calls. (crying call, knew he was beat by the amount of time he took)

Final Pot: 11.20 BB.
Results in white below:
Hero has Kd Jc (two pairs, kings and jacks.)
Hero wins 11.00 BB.
stheif09 doesn't show 5s, 6c

I did it just to try and confuse them. I maybe will do it like once a week in normal games if even that.

Did I play my hand just too weakly to try to pick up the pot on the river?

You think he thinks you limped an ace on the button? Raise this preflop.

Third hand I like, first 2 I still make a flop continuation bet

I think the only place to try to pick up this pot is before the flop.

I like the way you played this one. It seems in the other hands you were trying to be overly tricky which is fairly common in 2+2 games.

I was trying to counter their tricky aggro plays by doing some passive stuff.
Good counter strategy?

Being passive lets them dictate the play of the hands on puts you on the defensive. I can see playing a strong hand passively as a means to not get them to fold, but it seems most of the hands you played passively you didn't have anything at all and didn't give them a chance to fold.

There was a lot of raising going on at that table. By me playing some of my hands passive they missed out on some bets when i was in a pot.
