Default Best way to get to vegas affordably?

Hey, one of my friends is comped out the ass at the mirage and can get 60$ a night rooms because of his parents and their innate ability to blow their kid's college fund on craps. Aside from that, whats the best and most affordable airline and best time to go in? Thanks for any info.

Most likely your best bet is southwest booked at least six weeks in advance. Other airlines, booked equally far in advance, might be competitive, but I doubt it. Reasonable airfares can be found, but rarely so if you don't book in advance. Internet search!

First, this made me laugh.

Second, if he was really comped that well, the room would be taken care of completely. Mirage and TI room rates are known to me about 120/night during the weekdays normally.
