Default Re: 88 UTG+2, facing a raise

When you open-limped, you made a clear strategic decision (and a debatable one). You said (to yourself, effectively): "I'm going to try to generate a big cheap pot, flop a set, and bust someone." Now, your plan has gone awry. Such is life. Now, you toss your cards away and remember for next time that limping in early position hoping to foster a volume pot probably won't work.

Fold.

If 72 is in buttons range then its definitely a push.

A raise of T200 (to T250) is small when 5 players are still left to act. Button should consider that there might be mid pairs out there, and I would be surprised to see many stong players making such a raise without a hand that is not likely to play well after the flop, when multiple players could easily be calling.

As for betting different amounts and information leaks, I do bet different amounts. Sometimes I push when I don't want to see another card, and I think I can win the pot.
