[ QUOTE ]
Superior card players are those with the best analytical memory, strategy skills, betting skills, bluffing skills and the ability to tactically evaluate the betting and playing tendencies of the other players. The superior players among a group of regular players will always consistently win money over the long-run and also usually over the short-run. These superior players in a card game are not part of the gambling industry of course, but they are the equivalent to a house edge as far as the other players who consistently lose money are concerned.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yet he later goes on to talk about superior players and how they are also the house? Very contradictory.

Further is it stupid to attend sporting events since you will not make money there? Most people view online poker as entertainment thankfully

Well I guess the ignorant author of this hasn't realized yet that the greatest thing about internet poker is that you can be just a miserable BREAK EVEN player and still make money with RB and bonuses. That sounds like an attainable long term proft to me.

Looks suspiciously like some sort of religious nutter to me - he probably has another website up spouting crap about intelligent design or something - nothing to see here - move on..

This article has beeen posted in several other places all over the web. It goes back at least 6 months. Katz and I sent several emails back and forth awile ago. He gave up when it became clear that he was talking out of his ass about his wealth of experience losing money playing poker and I called him on it.

He is a gambling addict who gambled away all his money playing everything but poker, wrote a book, and now is trying to capitalize on the poker boom by claiming that he knows all there is to know about poker. He's clueless.

Old article. 2+2 has already laughed hysterically at this guy.

Alot of people sent him emails detailing how they are huge winners over hundreds of thousands of hands for the past several years and he refused to believe them.

Apparently the guy is an ardent anti gambling advocate so his goal is to stop everyone from gambling and convincing people that winning is impossible furthers his goal.

(and in the case of casino gambling he's correct, but he doesn't, more specifically REFUSES to, understand how poker can be a + EV game, even with the rake)

I'm pretty sure this is all the result of one terrible bad beat that scarred the guy for life:

in the neighborhood article:

"Even if you think that you are a better card player than most in that group, the chances are good that at least one or two players in that group will cheat. You will get dealt four of a kind and then just happen to get creamed by a player who has a higher four of a kind"

in the online article:

"The cards could be rigged in any which way to assure that you will lose quicker. They can easily rig any hand. For instance you could have four kings on the flop but a software program player gets a fourth ace at the river to beat you."

next time I flop four kings I'm just gonna fold
