Consumers unite for lower rakes?
Has there been any talk of players uniting to demand lower online rakes? Online sites are incredibly profitable. Not only do they run many more hands per hour with very low overhead, but they also earn interest on all of our deposits. I have nothing against business or profits, but that doesn't mean the consumer can't demand better. I don't know if the high-traffic sites collude and US antitrust laws would not apply to them anyway.
If players withdrew all their money en masse and demanded lower rakes, I think sites would respond. Or if a large group of players moved back and forth to whoever offered the lowest rake, we might create competition. |

Re: Consumers unite for lower rakes?
Thinking players can do this. I guess tight sites like Stars may get shut down. Idiot sites like Party won't have any problems.

Re: Consumers unite for lower rakes?
With bonuses you can play for zero rake or better. Only the people who don't know better pay to play poker.
NOTE ADDED: Only applies to low limit players. High stakes may get about a 50% discount. |
