A reload is any deposit made at a site after your initial deposit. SO, simply depositing an additional amount of money at that site will usually make you eligible for the bonus, but of course, be sure to read the fine print. Good luck.

would you have to cash out and not play for awhile before they offer you any reloads?

It depends. Absolute Poker is the most reload-friendly site in the known universe, and all they care about is that you not have cashed out in the preceding 48 hours. But most sites aren't so generous in reload bonuses.

True, but when PokerStars offers a "reload" bonus, you can get the bonus on your initial deposit.

The norm for poker sites is to offer a reload bonus for all players, whether or not they have been playing or have cashed out. You might not be eligible for the reload bonus if you cash out during the bonus period before making a deposit.

For example, InterPoker offers a $90 reload bonus each month. I believe InterPoker does not care when you cash out. PokerStars has been offering $120 reload bonuses about every two months. You can't cash out during the bonus period before making a deposit.

Several sites offer inactivity bonuses, often not tied to any deposit. For example, if you have not played for a while at InterPoker, you might get an offer of $20 to play a raked hand. Party has offered inactivity bonuses like $50 for 500 raked hands, no deposit required. If you set up an account and don't deposit, some sites will give you a little free money to get you to play for real money.
