Default Nyquil gives you &$#@ed up dreams!!

Anyone else notice this? If so, why? I'm guessing whatever's in there knocks you out to a deeper sleep than normal... sure, there's alcohol, but there's gotta be something else... yeah, I could read the ingredients and do some research, but this seemed like a good place to start...

I knew a girl who complained of this problem as well. I've never had weird dreams though, and i've taken lots of Nyquil.
I'm sure there's some sort of explanation.

This is backwards. REM (dreaming) occurs during the later (and lighter) stages of the sleep cycle. No dreaming occurs during deep sleep.

Chances are Nyquil is preventing you from entering deep sleep and prolonging the REM cycles.

I hear sleeping with the patch on gives you messed up dreams (for anyone looking for that sort of thing). Also, last night I dreamt about a sausage that I couldn't chew.

I've never had [censored] up dreams but I always end sleeping way to long and still feeling really tired or having a headache in the morning. Nyquil sucks.

Same thing happens to me, long intense dreams with nyquil. Exact same thing happens for me with melatonin, more so than with the nyquil i think.

I can't even sleep on that sht. Even though there is alcohol in it, there is still pseudo-ephedrine which wires the hell out of me. So, if I take it, I not only feel sick, but I am exhausted, and can't sleep.
