Need help with a Poker rule.
The question is simple: Can you re-raise an all-in bet that is less than twice the original bet?
My example should make it easier to understand: NL Hold’em blinds 25-50 Player “A” bets $100 Player “B” goes all in for $120 Player “C” calls the $120 Player “D” calls the $120 Can Player “A” re-raise? Example 2 NL Hold’em blinds 25-50 Player “A” bets $100 Player “B” goes all in for $120 Player “C” calls the $120 Player “D” goes all in for $200 Can Player “A” re-raise? It has been a debate in my regular home games and Harrington’s book on Hold’em pg 76 and Card Player Vol.18/ No 11 June 14th issue pg. 92 by Mike O’Malley have contrary views. Thanks for your help. |

Re: Need help with a Poker rule.
If it were my game I'd allow it, but a lot of rules like that are game to game. So whoever is hosting the game needs to make that ruling.

Re: Need help with a Poker rule.
We always allow it, no matter how small the raise to you, it's still a raise.

Re: Need help with a Poker rule.
In most casinos if the all-in is less than the initial raise is just considered a call.

Re: Need help with a Poker rule.
How about B&M or online play? Does the ruling change casino to casino or on-line poker sites?
