Default Odds of KK meeting a set of 8s three times in a row?

In less than an hr, I have KK 3 times at the same table. Everytime I got KK, I lost to a 8s that made a set on the flop. Three times in a row.

I think it's a 10% chance Im up against a pair of 8s when I have a pair kings.. and flopping a set is 7-1.. so what are the oods exactly of this occurrence happening?

The chance to lose with KK to 88 is 19%, three times in a row is 19% of 19% of 19%

Say what?

If you have one opponent, the probability he has 8-8 if you hold K-K:

C(4,2)/C(50,2) = ~.49%

Probability an 8 hits the flop (and no king):

1 - C(44,3)/C(46,3) = ~12.75%

So (.0049 * .1275)^3 or roughly 4,100,919,133.7 to 1.

This is essentially saying "the next 3 times I get K-K, what are the odds that I'll be heads up against 8-8 and he'll hit a set on the flop, and I won't". You never mention the number of people at the table which obviously comes into play.

I thought he meant how likely it is that KK lose against 88 three times in "less than on hour". To me that sounds like "If I have KK and the opponent has 88. How likely is it that I lose?" Besides a set the opponent might make a straight, a flush, a better full house, quads or any hand that would beat the hand with KK. And according to twodimes.net the probability for that is about 19%.

That's what I meant to say. This happened within an hour, so within about 50 hands at a full table of ten.

This really shocked me when it happend. I've played 100k of hands and have seen the AA vs KK vs QQ all at the same time or something similar. Actually I've seen that alot. But to get KK three different times within 50 hands at the same table, and to have one of my opponents holding 8s and flopping a set those three times I held KK.. Had never seen anything like it.

Was it the SAME opponent? That would make it even more unlikely.
