NC - I thought this was funny.

I was playing a 5.50 SNG today where we were 4 handed with one shortie who had maybe 1.5 BB left in his stack. The rest of us were pretty close in chip count.

Shortie was UTG and pushed. The button called, SB folded, I called out of the BB w/Q-9 clubs.

The flop came and I paired my queen. UTG checked, I checked, and we went ahead and checked it to the river and busted out shortie, my pair of queens winning the pot.

Wanting to acknowlege that he was smart to check it down with me I typed, "good work."

UTG typed back, "My Ace-Jack didn't win :-( "

I typed back, "Well, we busted him out and made the money, so that's a good thing."

He responded, "Yeah, I guess you're right."

Just gave me a chuckle. I'll have to remember this the next time someone's irrational behavior at a 5.50 is making me angry.

Usually its my own irrational behavior in the 5.50s that make me most angry. ;-)

I guess the progression goes like this:

Donkey acts like an irrational donkey.
Hobbes gets angry at the donkey for behaving exactly as should be expected - like a donkey
Hobbes does something stupid and irrational himself.
Hobbes yells string of obscenities.
Dog runs to the corner and hides behind a chair.
Pregnant wife tells Hobbes he better not act this way when the baby comes.
Hobbes grumbles under his breathe, calls the dog over and rubs her belly.
Hobbes fires up a new game.

In a year and a half the story changes to this...

Hobbes baby's first words are "F$%^ me!" after sitting on his father's knee through one too many bad beats.
