simple deuce-seven question

I've never tried this game before. I decided to check it out out of curiosity. someone mentoined in passing, I think, a ground rule of never drawing without a deuce in your hand. why is that?

You can't make any of the best eight hands in the game without a deuce. So you're usually going to need one at showdown; it's a good idea to start out with one, rather than drawing at one.
