Default Where to go in Vegas this weekend?

Heading to Vegas for the first time this weekend. Can anyone recommend some good places to go to get decent small stakes limit games? Looking for good places for 1/2, 2/4, or 3/6. Id like get maybe get in a 5/10 or 10/20 game but I figure I will be limited to my friends who like the lower stakes. Im more out to have fun but win some money too. Also if you have any recommendations on night life, we are all 25-30 years old. Thanks in advance!

Mike

Try the B&M forum. Also, try the bellagio. You'll find a small game and it will be cool for you to see where all the big dogs play.

theres a 3/6 at Paris but the smallest game is usually 4/8. the bellagio and the wynn are the best

If I was looking for a small limit poker game in Vegas, the Bellagio would be my last choice and the Wynn a close second. The Bellagio looks down their nose at 4/8.
You'll find a friendly game for small stakes hold'em at Monte Carlo and for a little more action at the MGM. Some of the lesser casinos offer small stakes hold'em, but I haven't played there.
While I love staying at the Bellagio, I really didn't like the treatment in their poker room.

I haven't been there since some of the newer poker rooms have opened, but the Mirage 3/6 is always good.

We'll....

Flaimingo spreads an awful 2/4 game... but a great $200 NL Game. (1/2 blinds)

Mandalay spreads a nice 4/8 game with 1/2 blinds... and a very tough $200 NL game (2/4 blinds) with a must move that feeds it...

At times Luxor spreads a fabulous $1-4 $4-8 spread limit games where you can bet anywhere from 1-4 PF and flop and 4-8 turn and river... just play it like it is a 4/8...

Monte carlo was already brought up..

Mirage spreads some nice fishy 3/6 and 6/12 games... as well as a some pretty good NL games....

I aggree with one of the original posters about bellagio and wynn... they do look down their noses at 4/8 players.... I even had the floor allow other language discussions that the players admitted were talking about what they folded relative to the board... but you do get to see Doyle and Gus and Freddy Deeb and many others sitting in the high limit room.

Excalibur spreads a nice 1-3 NL game.... 200 buy in and I think 3-6 limit... big room..

MGM spreads tough NL games and all the low limit games...

If you want a mix of small and high steaks...

your only bets I would bet are

bellagion 4/8 8/16 10/20 and above
mirage 3/6 6/12 8/16 10/20 and above
wynn... not sure if it is 3/6 or 4/8 but those and above

you really won't find a room with 1/2.. and anything higher.. although luxor does have hold'em lessons during the day .. at like 1pm or something and after that they spread a 1/2 game till the people leave... or at least they used to..

As far as night life....

drinking at the barbary coast.. althought it looks dumpy is in my opinion the best place to drink.... they also have one of the best night clubs in dreis... the food in the back is quite good at 3 am too... mostly a locals casino so the people are more friendly and less bitchy...

hard rock has a lot of hot chicks... and their club i forgot what it is called is nice.... has a california feel though... if you like that sort of thing... (so does palms)

palms also has a lot of hot chicks....

bellagio and wynn are up tight... I wouldn't go there.. but the poker at bellagio can be some of the best at times... lots of loose rich california kids that have FPS and raise like crazy with nothing.... you can really take that 4/8 game there for 7-800 on a good night.... but you can also get creamed if the cards don't fall rihgt.

mandaly bay has a very nice circular bar in the middle of the casino somewhere.... lots of nice women.. an awful cheesy vegas band..... nice to sit and relax there... but the later the better there.. at 10pm it will be a ghost town.

I would stay away from luxor, excalibur, flamingo, stardust, circus circus, stratosphere....

rio isn't bad and is by the palms... but the minimums on tables are quite outrageous there lately... I haven't been in the poker room there since it opened but I heard they moved it out of the sports book and is better than it used to be....

I do enjoy the Wynn but their limit 8/16 & 15/30 are full of regulars additionally is the case with their o8.
