Poker money in countries when its semilegal
Hello all !
This is not the question for all happy Americans who can safely pay their taxes and enjoy tha money. This is the question for all the players who can make significant money and who live in countries when legal status of online poker is not clear (Poland is one (mine) example). Who do you do with your winnings ? Where do you keep your money ? (national banks, offshore accounts - if yes where ?). Do moving to other country (Germany, England) solve this problem) ? Anybody has any experience in this area ? Best wishes ! |

If you make money selling drugs in America you are still supposed to pay taxes on it.
Paying taxes and the legality of an activity are exclusive of each other. Doesn't mean poker is illegal, but just wanted to point that out. |

I mean I cant pay taxes in Poland even if have desire to do so. So this money are practically speaking illegal. But , fortunately, nobody here really cares. (Same problem with sportsbetting in other countries and so on).
Ive read some posts here about guys who said things like : "I hate USA, because I paid already 0.5 of the big one in taxes" so I guess there is possibility to make the money legal in USA. It seems that this possibility is no existing in my country. Best wishes |

Re: Poker money in countries when its semilegal
There is a clear divide in the U.S. from the Internal Revenue Service (tax collector) and the legal branch (at least there is supposed to be.
All income is supposed to be reported to the IRS, whether it is prostitution, drugs, gambling, working a traditional job etc. This is what is supposed to be done, but generally I am sure drug dealers do not send the IRS a chunk of there earnings, though by law they are supposed to. Because you pay taxes on the money doesn't make it illegal or legal. It sounds like Poland is different. |

Well moving to the UK would solve your problem if you wanted to do that. Gambling is legal in the UK, and as far as I am aware gambling winnings are tax free.
