Default Why Raise TT-99 or ReRaise JJ from the Blinds in Multiway Pots?

It seems to me raising TT-99 in the blinds or reraising JJ in the blinds in a multiway pot is not so good because it often puts one in an awkward spot when one of the many possible overcards come. The more players in the hand, the worse it is.

Am I wrong? If so, why?

Just because you raised PF, doesn't mean you need to spew chips postflop.

Things are always cozy postflop and require you to assess the situation as it presents itself. However - Because things may be akward postflop, shouldn't negate the fact that you can make value raises PF.

The more multiway the pot is, the better your set value is. Also it will still win a significant amount of the time when no overcards come. And if you get a bad flop multiway (AK on board) you can fold for no more bets.

I think the best argument for not raising those hands out of the blinds is in tighter games with tight passive players when there are only about 4 to the flop. If you assume these rocks probably all have big cards then it might be better to just complete (I think I heard this is the advice from Middle Limit Holdem maybe, but I've never read that book). Anyways, the better solution in this case is to request a table change.

Muliway makes it much easier to raise. The toughest spots imo, are when you have 3 opponents...like the 99 hand I just posted.

OK, I see what you mean, QTip. If you spike a set, playing the hand is usually easy. But in multiway pots without a made set, is everyone usually check/folding on overcard flops?

Check/folding against passives?

Bet/folding against aggressives?

If you got both passives and aggressives at the table, who knows what to do when your first or second to act?
