How to play KK vs preflop aggression when an ace falls?
Hypothetical situation. Say Villian is 20/8.
You raise in EP with K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Villian three bets and you cap. Flop is A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. What is the general game plan if you bet out and villian calls? |

Re: How to play KK vs preflop aggression when an ace falls?
`blind post`
Assuming villain caps AA, KK, AKs, and QQ There are 3 ways he can have AA 1 way he can have KK (Let's forget about this one) 1 way he can have AKs (AcKc) 6 ways he can have QQ Therefore, there are 6:4 odds that you are ahead. You are either way ahead or way behind. I think you have to check/call, check/call, bet However, in this case you bet and he called. You can either: check the turn and try to induce a bluff from a worst hand on the turn and river (do this if you think there are good chances your opponent will fold QQ or KK to a turn bet). bet the turn and fold to a raise (lots of call the flop and check/raise the turn when they hit big, like in this case). Can someone tell me if bet/fold on the turn is weak/tight? |

Re: How to play KK vs preflop aggression when an ace falls?
Check and call all the way. I will often times check and call even if I have AK here (for balencing purposes). However with AK I would check/raise the turn and then bet the river if he calls. With KK I would check/call all 3 streets (sometimes check/fold the river).

Shillx, could you please let me know why your sometimes fold the river? Is that read-dependant? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah it is read dependant. Let me give you an example hand... You raise UTG with A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] and I reraise from UTG+1. Everyone folds and you call. Flop: J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] You check and call. Turn: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] You check and call. River: 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] You should check/fold. Do you see why? Brad |

Re: How to play KK vs preflop aggression when an ace falls?
Yeah, because the only hand I beat is AK, and it's unlikely that he would bet all the streets. He would probably check the turn if he really did. Besides, I'm behind so often that it's not worth calling the extra bet. Is that right?
