Starting to play in B&M
WHile playing online poker Ive been able to make around $10,000 but I dont like the online enviroment and would rather play live. I will be able to play live in 6 months in a smaller casino, The Chumash Casino, near Santa Barbara. I just wanted to know if 10,000 is a good starting amount to play the average live limit or NL games in a smaller Indian Casino like this. Since I want to limit my time playing online poker? Would you guys suggest a smaller or bigger bankroll? Any suggestions when starting out?

I really dont know what the casino nearest me offers I'm thinking 10/20 limit would be a good starting place for this transition. I usually play NL online but I dont know if they offer it at the Chumash

I really dont know what the casino nearest me offers I'm thinking 10/20 limit would be a good starting place for this transition. I usually play NL online but I dont know if they offer it at the Chumash [/ QUOTE ] there is a huge difference between limit and nl. crazy varience compared to nl, harder to protect hands, preflop hand values change drastically, make sure you understand these differences. these are 2 very different games. also, Why dont you like internet play? (important, live play may not be all you expect) If you can beat limit holdem, Id recommend a internet account multi tabeling 3-6 or 5-10, with a soild rake back deal, could really build that roll high, but if your really set on live play i guess there no stopping you. live 10/20 requires a roll of 6000, but start smaller for the first few visits till you get the hang of live play. read up on limit holdem... bunch of good books on it... make sure you understand the game. then ask your self. What are your goals? Turnpro? supplment income? hobby? then set smaller goals to improve your play, but always make sure you enjoy the games. |

Re: Starting to play in B&M
Just so you know, chumash doesn't really spread a 10/20. They say they do on the weekends, but they don't. SOMETIMES you'll find a 6/12 game.

Wow you bumped this from way back. You play at Chumash though? Do they offer NL games? Also is the competition pretty soft for tournies and ring games there? thanx
