Re: Did the system fail this man?
[ QUOTE ]
What if he asks YOU for $400,000 for the operation, and you say no. Are you sentencing him to death as well? [/ QUOTE ] Are saying I'm comparable to an insurance company? |

Re: Did the system fail this man?
[ QUOTE ]
Are saying I'm comparable to an insurance company? [/ QUOTE ] No. First, you would have to take money from the guy month after month, all the while promising to "take care of him if anything happens". Then, when he needs you, you tell him No. |

Re: Did the system fail this man?
To be like an insurance company, you would have to SAY one thing, have hired representatives SAY things, aim lots and lots of advertising SAYING stuff, and then have the contract (with at least 95% written in incomprehensible legalise, and at least 60% of it printed in a font too small to be readable by the unaided human eye, and 10% of it references other documents not made available) saying something else, THEN you would be an insurance company.

[/ QUOTE ] If you don't like it, don't get insurance. Or get a different plan. Or get investors to create a new company that will provide good customer service and be profitable. Not so hard. |

If you don't like it, don't get insurance... [/ QUOTE ] Or move to a country with a better medical system. Or maybe vote for representatives that would create a better system. |

Re: Did the system fail this man?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] The government making a large overt payment to save a guys life would really open the floogates to totally socialized medicine. [/ QUOTE ] Oh no, health care at the point of need, with no discrimination between rich and poor, that is a terrible terrible thing, just think of all the poor people who wouldn't die, a tragedy waiting to happen. Mack [/ QUOTE ] Good reading comprehension "Which i actually think would be better than the half measures in place today" Damn, i must hate any possibility of socialized health care. What i was taliking about was the ineffectiveness of using a piecemeal system to fit gaps. Coming up with ad hoc legislation to try to fix each porblem of public perception. If you wnat socialized medicine, then you start with a plan and implement it. Half measures are not helping the major problems in this country, many would argue that they are hurting . |
