PS $11...down to 11, could I have folded this?

Pokerstars...down to 11 players....my stack was quickly dwindling...could I have let this go and waited? My read on the button was that he could be pushed off hands..I hadn't had a hand in a while and I had only picked up chips coming over the top of his positional raises on me. Easy fold IMO. Why did you have to call there? You really thought the button was stealing with a less better hand the majority of the time? I know it's 6 handed but AJ doesn't have a lot of hands dominated in that spot.
