A serious question - why raise pf? K9s is essentially a drawing hand and pays better with more active players when it hits and is A LOT easier to let go when it misses and there is action to you. I really don't see the value of isolating a EP limper with this hand.

vs a weak limper they will usually suck enough to make this iso profitable. OTB, there is no way this will be multiway and I am raising as well. Would you raise KTs OTB? I think most wouldd, and K9s is pretty much the same thing in a hand like this (with just 1 limper).

Thanks for the explanation. I need to stop insta-categorizing hands and view the 2 cards in context of the actual hand in play. After reading the other replies, I now see the reasoning & agree raising here is better.

*Grunch*

Preflop: Are you kidding me? Limp!

Flop: Not a terrible spot for a bet. I'd like to have some sort of read on my opponent before doing this, however.

Turn: Good.

River: Also good.

You are right. The flop is actually pretty obviously good. It does seems that some LP players might check/call-down with a weak ace here, though. I am also quite possibly wrong, as I'm still pretty new.

It seemed to me, then, that after betting the flop, it was best to continue on the turn and river (I'm thinking of Ed Miller's current article in the magazine).

the decisions become more and more questionable as he continues calling your bets.

flop and turn bets are very standard - but the river bet is closer (yet still good) because he has shown that he either has a pair or has a draw. the flush draw got there, and we do not hold the best possible pair. so that decision is close.

After thinking about this hand for a while I have decided that I **Officially** do not like the river bet. When you get called here, you are not ahead 55% of the time. Also, there is significant risk of a c/r.

I'm in the camp that wouldn't bet the river, otherwise this looks fine.

I brought the beer as I agree with this also.

Rest of hand is exactly how I play it.
