He looks right at me and said, "That's how you do it, son." I think he meant, that's how you put someone permanently on tilt. [/ QUOTE ] Yah, this definitley made me chuckle. |

Re: WOWOWOWOOWOWOOOWWOW-nitzilla
I had to email this guy.
[ QUOTE ] Thanks for the laugh. It took awhile to realize you were serious with this article. Seriously, if you can't beat 2/4 games then you outta think about taking up a tougher game like War or Go Fish. I hear the players play better in those games. [/ QUOTE ] |

Do you guys think he'll be bad for poker? I mean most of the guys who check ESPN poker content are probably the guys who like sports and probably are the calling station donks themselves. That's my guess. All of the "berate the fish" guys are probably at the crappier poker sites. Or am I way off?

Re: WOWOWOWOOWOWOOOWWOW-nitzilla
the author is clearly awful at limit (which he kind of admits) but his descriptions of the "clientele" at foxwoods 2-4 was dead on and gave me a laugh.

My location is "I am a nit." So I feel that I have to defend my honour as Supreme Nit, here.
When you're in UTG+1, playing limit holdem, with an opponent in UTG who has a stack size of greater than 2 SB, your "Call any" button should actually say "Call Either". How's that for a niticism? |

I got 5-6 suited in the hole. Small suited connectors is not a bad hand to play, just ask Doyle Brunson. [/ QUOTE ] He obviously skipped the limit Hold'em chapter which was right before the No-Limit Chapter. [ QUOTE ] He bet and I max raised him, trying to get him out of the pot. I had nothing but junk, but I knew he had nothing, too. I wasn't guessing he had nothing. I knew he had nothing. And he called me with ace high. [/ QUOTE ] Low Stakes Limit Poker Number 1: DON'T BLUFF!!! [ QUOTE ] 5. Calling stations... [/ QUOTE ] This writer officially sucks in Limit Hold'em. |

Re: WOWOWOWOOWOWOOOWWOW-nitzilla
I thought that as well when I read the basketball-jersey comment.
Is he somehow implying that Phil Ivey started the trend of wearing basketball jerseys and that anyone else who wears a jersey is somehow copying him?? Seems to me that Ivey isn't the only one in the country wearing basketball jerseys....or in the world for that matter...my GF from Peru says the NBA is HUGE down there...she and her brother just bought Pau Gasol and Kobe Bryant jerseys for their 8 year-old cousin back home. I just thought that their 8-year-old cousin was a fan of the NBA. little did I know that his REAL intention is to be like Phil Ivey. This obviously isn't a new trend either. When I was a kid I had cheapo fake jerseys of my favorite football and baseball players (Ken Anderson, Terry Bradshaw, Fran Tarkenton, Steve Bartkowski, Jim Plunkett, etc etc...Pete Rose, Johnny Bench, Joe Morgan). I was 8 or 9....so Phil Ivey was probably about 2 years old. But I was probably just trying to impersonate him even then. |

Re: WOWOWOWOOWOWOOOWWOW-nitzilla
To my knowledge the NBA players wear these same phil ivey jerseys when they play. Thats a hell of a fan base for phil.
I also heard that he is huge around play off time. |
