Default Foxwoods 20-40 Hand, Turn Squeeze Play

20-40 at foxwoods standard lineup of borderline terrible players, most of the players in the game know i'm a pro, i play very TAG and rarely show down a losing hand. UTG (struggling to play breakeven poker imho) raises, i call in MP with AQo, button calls, both blinds fold

flop is 458 rainbow, UTG looks depressed and bets, i call, button calls

turn 6 UTG bets, i raise

I like this play because very often you can get a better hand to fold although I'm not so sure in this situation because unless he really is just awful he doesn't have anything to be afraid of. I would think he will call you down with hands that beat you a majority of the time in this situation.

I dislike the "raise or fold" cliche, but with AQo in this spot, facing an UTG raise, it's applicable -- you know your opponent, so you should know which to use. Calling just invites more customers.

FYP

FWIW, I play in this game once a week, and I really don't like the preflop cold call. Unless I'm folding, I 3-bet in this spot 100% of the time.

As for the turn play, I like it, especially considering your image. I think you can get to laydown a TON of hands here. The "struggling to play well" types tend to like making laydowns.

you really don't find a cold call here table dependent? i really feel like so much of my profit in this game is outplaying postflop and a reraise to isolate is bad, my cold call allows me to represent alot more hands postflop than a 3 bet

I was thinking about this more since last night and, no, I don't. I know a lot of the players there on a regular basis who inhabit the games anywhere from the Kill 5, 10, and 20 games, and against any of the ones I know, with how they are playing at a particular time, it's raise or fold against any of them. Against some random new guy sitting in the chair (likely now with all of the WPT side events going on as we speak) it's all about what I think of him right then and how he's playing whether it's 3-bet or fold.

I hate always and never ... but I think this might be the exception, so I always will 3-bet or fold here and I'd never call.
