First post - Need another pair of eyes
It was early in a $5.00 + .50 multi-table tourney on Pokerstars when the following hand came up. I'm in seat #2. This hand has been bothering me all day and I think I may the right play. If anyone would like to comment, I would appreciate it.

Should I have called him and tried to catch one of my many outs or just given it up? Thanks! |

Re: First post - Need another pair of eyes
save yourself the 600 chips and fold on the turn.

Re: First post - Need another pair of eyes
Check-fold the turn. Since you bet out and got raised, definitely fold to the raise. You're not beating anything really. You got to ask yourself what he's calling with on the flop and then raising you on the turn with…After the smoothcall he made on the flop I’d put him on a 10, KJ or KQ and all those hand are beating you on the turn.

Re: First post - Need another pair of eyes
To set up a bluff on the turn or river? I don't think that works often enough in $5 MMT's to make it profitable as you're likely to get called down by something like hero had.

Re: First post - Need another pair of eyes
Wow, that was quick. More and more I'm thinking I should've checked on the turn and folded if a bet came down like you suggested. I've just started playing (about the last 3 months) and I'm glad I stumbled on this website. I appreciate the input.

Re: First post - Need another pair of eyes
Yeah that's what I said in my first response. Check-folding the turn is most likely the correct play. But what I mean with that it might be a mistake to bluff at this is due to the fact that most $5 MTT's players don't always make the correct play. Which of course is good in most situations, but not in a situation like this in which you might get called down by hand that should fold. It's all very player dependent though. If you think you can move hero of hand like A-Q then go for it.
