my favorite word is definetely 'Jihad'. When you're white, there is no more effective statement than "I declare a Jihad on you." Try it sometime. When you get a bad beat, and you're drunk, stand up and yell, "I declare a Jihad on you".

I work in finance, and all my coworkers love the word: niggardly.

[/ QUOTE ]

Is it because they are racist?

[/ QUOTE ]

nig·gard·ly Audio pronunciation of "niggardly" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ngrd-l)
adj.

1. Grudging and petty in giving or spending.
2. Meanly small; scanty or meager: left the waiter a niggardly tip.

Want to know what the word, "ignorant" means?

[/ QUOTE ]

you would sound racist if you used this word

[/ QUOTE ]

only to people who don't know what the word "ignorant"means.

Just because one word sounds very close to another does make them similar in meaning, for example:

clause - claws
fu*k - truck
Virginia - vagina

nope, not even remotely close in meaning. But I'm sure you'd tell all people in Richmond not to say their state's name out loud, as it might offend someone.

[/ QUOTE ]

Those are horrible examples. Claws is not offensive. Fu ck and truck have nothing to do with each other, except for the fact that they RHYME. and with the Virginia example, it is derived from the Virgin Queen, not VAGINA you [censored] moron.

also, if you ever say this, it's because you want to be racist. and then when someone calls you racist because you said the N word, you can say "nut uh, that's a real word!"

Nit.

[/ QUOTE ]

No fukin' kidding! You mean the words I used as examples DON'T have anything in common??? Wow! Who knew????

Well, those of us who understood that that was exactly my point did. You didn't. But that's okay.

You see,the words "nigger" and "niggardly" ALSO have nothing in common except that they SOUND ALIKE.

Get it????

Claws is not offensive.

Never said it was. Only used as an example that two words might sound alike without having anything to do with one another. Like the original two words we are talking about.

Fu ck and truck have nothing to do with each other, except for the fact that they RHYME.

Um....yeah. My point exactly. Duh.

and with the Virginia example, it is derived from the Virgin Queen, not VAGINA you [censored] moron.

Again....my point exactly. Never once was I inferring that one word was derived from the other.

That was the whole fukin' point of this post, you freakin' idiotic, read-at-a-7th grade-level nimrod.

Now go back and re-read my post and you just MIGHT understand it.

What a hump.

I know damn well what the word means. That is completely besides the point. Im asking if they are racist, ie., that is the reason they like the word. There may be no good reason for them liking the word, hence I asked, are they racist?

[/ QUOTE ]

If I liked the word "slant," would you automatically ask if I was racist when it came to Asians?

Relating one word with the other in the context you are trying to do, is, I would say...over-reaching. And unnecessarily inflammatory.

Not to mention, stupid.

Dominic, I wasnt actually calling them racist, just asking. Say you have a word, like Cuntfabulous, but has nothing to do with a vagina, why are people going to snicker when they say it.

quaffable (still don't know what it means, it's in Sideways)

[/ QUOTE ]

If only there was a place you could look to find out the meaning of words.

[/ QUOTE ]

In the absence of a dictionary, "google is your friend."

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, you could just go to www.dictionary.com if you didn't have a friend named google.

it means "drinkable"

[/ QUOTE ]

In High school I was in a club "SBB of D&Q"
"Senior Boys Brotherhood of Drinking and Quaffing"
Not exactly a school sponsored club.....no official picture in the yearbook....
I'm not sure I've used the word since.

anthropromorphic
alacrity
and most words with the letter z. a vastly underused letter.
