Thanks for the replies. The reason I didn't raise the flop is that I thought the button might raise with the same hands he'd coldcall with, and play some others for 1 bet but not 2. And any of us could have AA-KK here.

Completely agree with everyone about calling the river, though. My biggest hole is a lack of river aggression, especially with position, so I've been consciously looking for spots where I can increase it and sometimes I lose perspective. Cue this hand.

And something about his bet didn't seem right. Wouldn't he try to check-raise with AAA? Also, in my multi-tabling frenzy, I may have forgotten about his pf cap, and AdTd flashed through my mind. Anyway, I immediately regretted the raise once I clicked, but was relieved to see him just call. Turned out he had KK- what a tool.

Actually, as I think more about it, maybe his river bet was expert. It ensures he gets a bet in against an overplayed QQ-JJ which might check behind, and the bet on the river ace should probably scare a thinking player from raising with an underset. Too bad for him I wasn't thinking

Or he may also be a tool.

Id say he's just a tool. Paying off the raise on the river demonstrates that fairly well.
