Is Gus Hansen playing any events at the WSOP?
He's been conspicuously absent from the events so far. Makes you wonder about those stories about him skipping town because of debts. Anyone spotted him in Vegas these last days?

I'll perpetuate the rumor.
I heard that Gus Hansen is stuck for a lot of cash. Apparently, he either doesn't want to pay or can't pay. I think the fact that one of the most talented and well known tournament pros is conspicuously absent from the "mother of all poker tournaments" is enough to prompt further speculation.

i think it's odd he was spotted playing online though - if he's avoiding people he owes money to (alegedly) - why play poker online and piss them off even more?

That would be seriously bad news for the WPT, seeing how Gus is their poster boy. Hard to believe though that he couldn't find someone to stake him for just the WSOP NLHE tourneys if nothing else, based on his track record as a NLHE tournament player.
