I hope to gain some knowledge and insight into my game along the way so I will post hands that weren't so cut and dry for me to get toher's feedback Thanks.

I wasn't able to hit the 1,000 hand mark on the first day but that was due in part to the server problems at party yesterday morning.
Overall a good day lost two big pots with pocket Aces both times but I still finished in the green.

I'm not familiar with the Party NL$25 game, but in hand 1, would someone just open push with the nuts or a 3? No one without a J is going to call there, so he's splitting or way way way ahead with Jx - or only going to get called by a better hand with a 3. Maybe i'm insane, but I might have to call that.

This is why I don't play NL cash yet.

You're not playing against chan, hellmuth, and Negraneu in the Party 25.

They think I have a full house ! PUSH! Dont try to read into peoples thoughts in that game, most of them don't have 2 brain cells to duke it out with each other.

Maybe I'm just a sucky/inexperienced NL player (actually, no "maybe" about it), but it looks SO much like a bluff/medium pocket pair in Hand #1 that I'd have to call.

RE Hand 1:

I'm no NL expert, but I think the solution to avoiding the decision on the turn is to put in a decent sized re-raise on the flop to see where you're at. Maybe bet the pot.

I think if you are calling on the flop, you have to be ready to call any turn/river cards down on this non-flushy non-straight board. The reason for calling on the flop is to let your opponent continue to overplay, no? Well he's really overplaying. So while, your read of your opponents all-in moves is really critical here, in general I'd probably call it down.

Now, if you take the re-raise the flop line, I don't know how to continue if he goes all-in there. I feel like you need to know your opponents well to read situations like this.

I have no confidence to my NL ring game skills as I haven't played squat. Please read this as the naive insight of a semi-intelligent animal.

Thanks for the input. I think for the most part I was playing very carefully yesterday to avoid any big downswing on Day 1 of my challenge.

I 4-Table with a 15inch monitor which kinda sucks, but I plan on putting in 3.5-5 hours in a day on average.

You should buy a 2001FP as your reward for finishing this.

That was actually something I have been thinking about buying. People have been posting prices of around $550 which is a great deal.
By the way, I have decided that people wont want to read a post everyday from me, so I am going to do it in 3-4 day update intervals. I think this will enable me to make more meaningful posts and help me to improve on my game.
