You have ~12 BB in the first hand -- no reason to be pushing quite yet. Just make a normal 3xBB raise.

On the second hand, you have no reason to think you're any better than a coin-flip against initial raiser's range, and unless he's pretty loose for this stage of the game, you're likely worse than that (3 BB raise from early position usually means *something*...). Just lay it down.

I think pushing the first hand is good, if you raise 3X BB you wind up putting in around 30% of your stack and the continuation bet if you miss will pot commit you ..unless you plan to check behind and basically tell the bigger stack he's free to take it....

Your only other real option is limping which isn't terrible cause you don't commit much if you miss and he may think his weaker Ace or King is good.

Second hand I'd fold it, at best a coinflip and could be worse.

Both look fine to me. Your first hand is an easy push -- a pot sized raise is getting close to half your chips. I don't see how you can do anything else but push this, unless you know for some reason the limper would only limp with a monster here. Even then, I'd have to be REALLY confident in my read to limp with AK.

2nd one is tougher, and I think you could fold and find a better spot if the table was particularly bad. When I'm the shortstack though, I like to take an expected coinflop for a chance to double up though (you're still a ways from moneying too, which is important). It's really close though, and a read on the raiser's range here could easily sway what I'd do.

First hand is fine.

Second hand can go either way, I think. This is read dependent. Aggressive player? Easy push. Rock? Tougher decision...
