Re: Any reason why Party 3/6 is tighter than 5/10 short?
A lot of weak-tights play 3/6, but theres plenty of donating lags. Look harder, play at better times. Its better then 5/10, if not only slightly.

Re: Any reason why Party 3/6 is tighter than 5/10 short?
Yesteday every table I played at had somebody who was like 70/35 and at least one other with a VPIP over 50.
The 3/6 (at least SH) is crazy soft. I haven't played much 5/10, but from what I hear, it's not softer... |

Re: Any reason why Party 3/6 is tighter than 5/10 short?
In my datamined DB, the average 3/6 6m vpip is 37, and the average 5/10 6m vpip is 37.5. I'd tell ya the median, but PT won't let me find it easily.

This is bizarre. Unless the winning 1/2 rocks have moved up and there aren't enough donaters to go around? [/ QUOTE ] I'm hitting the 3/6, 5/10 bubble with my bankroll and I can confidently say (using PokerEdge) that 3/6 is significantly looser. It's not uncommon to find a 3/6 table with no TAGs (maybe mice, but not tags). At 5/10, you're typically going to have to share a table with another TAG. Hard to imagine trying to play 10/20. Seems like you'd get to apoint where you've got 3-4 TAGs feeding on one or two fish. I suppose it'll all become clear if/when I get there. |

Re: Any reason why Party 3/6 is tighter than 5/10 short?
The 5/10 is definately tighter since the blind structure is 1/3 in 3/6. Just look at VPIP won't do u any good.

Re: Any reason why Party 3/6 is tighter than 5/10 short?
the main difference so far between 5/10 and 10/20 IMO is not the ratio of TAGs to loose players, although 10/20 will have more TAGs - it's that the loose players are more often aggro, where at 5/10 there are a fair amount of passives.

Do you mean party 3/6 FULL is tighter than 5/10 short? If so your comparing apples to oranges. If not, your table selection sucks.

[/ QUOTE ] 10/20 isn't bad as long as you practice good table selection. There are quite a few LAGs and while they are tougher, they aren't unbeatable. They just know when to fold a little more (had the same one raise the turn & fold to my 3-bet 3 times last night). Passive players aren't as frequent and you will mostly be sharing the table with some other TAGs. The thing is, there are a lot of bad TAGs out there. I still manage to get 4 tables with a VPIP of 38+ in the evenings. |
