Re: Question on Deck set up
Every place I've played live poker (a pretty small sample) alternates red backs and blue backs on deck changes (every hand if shuffling machines are used). This should minimize the chance that a card from the old deck gets mixed in. Is this not done everywhere? If not, Why not?

Re: Question on Deck set up
I know where I play, the card shufflers also count the cards each time to make sure they are all there... Of course you could have five eights and only three aces, but it is a decent safeguard at least.

Re: Question on Deck set up
One of my pet peeves is when dealers wash/shuffle the cards after every hand, only to put them in an auto-shuffler.
Wastes a good 30 seconds per hand which really adds up over a session. I've always wanted to say something but never have been drunk enough to do it. heh. |
