Re: Dan Druff and Stars 100/200
[ QUOTE ]
I'm still waiting for Stars to give me access to the restriced games [/ QUOTE ] How long does this take, it took me half an hour. My experience with DanDruff is that he's won't to make some fishy plays, but my experience is limited, and I also think he's the captain of the nerd convention so I have a want to dislike everything he does - that said, everyone that know anything about anything says he's very solid and an excellent player. |

Re: Dan Druff and Stars 100/200
I just checked my database and a little surprised to learn that Dan Druff is one of the bigger losers lately there. He has been running bad. But I also don't think he's as good a player as some of you think. He plays solid enough, but a tad too unimaginative, in my opinion. For example, when the hand goes check check on the turn, you can almost always bet him off on the river. Hard to believe that not one of those times he didn't have an ace or small pair. It's almost like he's just playing his hand and not giving his opponent the possibility that he's taking advantage of his weakness to bet a nothing hand.
This also could be a sign that he's multi-tabling and too distracted to play his A-game. It's one thing to multi-table small stakes, but I know that my results also suffer when I try to play 3 100 games at the same time. |

Re: Dan Druff and Stars 100/200
I think everyone is underestimating how good DanDruff is. The reason he seems "tight and unimaginative" at times is that many of the stars regulars get destroyed by straightforward but thinking play.

Re: Dan Druff and Stars 100/200
I know how he feels. this weekend over three long sessions I got drawn out on it seemed like every time, in the most ridiculous ways possible. so many 4 flushes/ 4 straights. I'd call it as the hand progressed: 'sweet, two pair. turn comes and he goes wild. what's he got? set of aces? no that's just too absurd. he must have made the dumb-ass straight. oh look, it is a set of aces.' also getting caught up with for a chop a ridiculous number of times. what's the lesson I take from it? that poker is a vicious, sadistic game. I haven't yet begun to suspect that the game is rigged--but wouldn't it be funny if we found it some day that it was?!

Wow. I thought his 1st post might be a joke and there was going to be a "ha ha ha, just kidding, see how stupid you guys sound when you complain?" follow-up. Oops.

Re: Dan Druff and Stars 100/200
I too have entertained the idea of a kill switch, but have come to the conclusion that the variation is due to 4 factors. One more fish. 2 money seems fake so fish take even bigger chances and 3 schooling of fish taken away value and 4 No table image or reads available. That is why i play more live then online. I done hours and see my live game has been a lot more profitble. I still play online but if i have a choice it will always be live....
