4 to a straight on the board, board pairs on river
I'm new to NL and I've never posted on this board before so be gentle with me
I've been running into this situation a lot lately. For example, I've got AJ and board is 10, J, Q, K and river is another 10. Villian has been check/calling pot sized bets the whole way. Do you check behind on the river or value bet? Obviously reads would help but as a general rule it seems to me it's best to check behind here right? About the only hands that you beat are worse straights and maybe two pair. A good player might even push with just an ace making you make a tough decision. |
