Default istewart avatar clarification question

I reading his (lenghty) member notes and wondering why he had a star, and then at the bottom I noticed somebody about a request to change his avatar. His old one didn't seem offensive in the least and I'm confused.

He's easily one of the worst regular posters in OOT.

I think he rules- but undersand why people wouldn't.

I'm just still wondering about the note about his avatar, as it seemed awfully non-offensive.

As you likely saw from his notes section, it was I who asked him to change his avatar (the Palestinian terrorist wearing the Christmas stocking). I found myself cringing everytime I saw that avatar. Given the previously existing note for istewart pertaining to his propensity for making antisemitic comments, I decided to ask him to remove the avatar--to which he complied quickly.

I wasn't getting "terrorist" from that image, I was just getting "ninja looking guy". Maybe my policy of ignoring the news means that I should recognize that image.

The avatar was a famous picture from the '72 Olympics in Munich...which is still a horrible memory for anyone over the age of forty.
