Default Posting blinds OOP

Is posting a blind OOP theoretically correct, incorrect or meh? I personally like to wait for my turn to post the big blind, but that's just a matter of preference.

It depends on what you want your table image to be.

If you want to be seen as someone who is a loose, impatient player - you post. If you want to be seen as someone who is a tight, patient player - you wait until it's your BB.

I usually like to find a seat where the BB will be within 1-2 hands or sit right behind where the dealer is so I can post in the CO. If I am 1 or 2 hands away, I can wait. If I will be in the CO, I can post a BB and then go 7 hands before it reaches me again.

My image is that of a tight one, so I dont mind waiting a couple of hands before I can get in. It helps me to see how the players are playing. But I wanna play like everyone else, so the sooner I can play the better!

unless the table is really fishy its always mathematically correct to wait, even if u can post in the CO

Are you sure about that? Ed Miller in SSHE claims that mathematically the choice you make to post or wait does not much matter.

Does Ed try to quantify the value of position? Personally I'd much rather have a forced bet when in position then when out of it.

IMHO, I don't think table image is an issue.

On-line, your table image is your PT stats. With everyone multi-tabling, nobody is going to notice if you posted or waited.

Add the fact that with so much turnover at a table, after an hour half your table may be new players and didn't see you post/wait.
