Default Bikes in Las Vegas

Going to Vega$ for Thanksgiving Day week for a bit of a celebration.

Any recommendation for cheap bike rentals and/or purchase from a pawn and thrift store???

Maybe someone local can recommend something which I can give back after my 6 days are up in LV.

In ACity I got a bike for $20 @ a garage sale which I peddle on the Boardwalk - Anything similar would be fine!

Biking on the Strip is not a good idea. There are several spots on the Strip which can't be crossed without crossing a bridge. You'll be lugging the bike up stairs, crossing the bridge, and then going down another set of stairs.

You won't be able to use the sidewalks with the heavy pedestrian traffic.

I agree that biking on the Strip as a pedestrian is not a good idea, but biking as a vehicle would be fine. I don't have any advice on how to find a bike, but I congratulate you for doing so - I'm always glad to hear about someone else using bikes to get around.

I'd be worried about getting hit while on a bike. If the vehicle isn't a cab they are likely looking at hot chicks on the sidewalks or the casinos. That means they aren't paying attention to a dude on a bike. Anyways, you've got feet.

Yeah i wouldn't even consider riding a motorcycle on the strip. The monorail runs up the strip and there are few places that are not a short walk from a station so I just buy myself a 10 ride ticket when i'm there.

Guys:

Thanks for all replies and your concerns about biking on the Strip...

However, I do not expect to be biking much on the Strip but around the Downtown area - because that is where I'm going to be located...

Also I was hoping to bike on the secondary streets if I need to head down south.

I remember that the CAT #108 bus from McCarron goes Downtown but avoids the strip and only crosses it way past the Strat.

OK...
Last episode on CSI (Las Vagas) a poor bicyclist got shot in the back...
I don't want the same fate - but Is there a chance I could see Marg
Helgenberger at a Crime Scene - oops Set that is!

I love rollerblading on the strip. Dodging people and cars is fun.
