Default How bad is this?

With no other info except that tournament average stack is about 5500, Hero has folded the last 20 or so hands, and no read on the villain, how bad is this play?

Looks fine to me. Avg stack is really pretty unimportant here though.

Well, it worked, so it was an excellent play.

But with no read on the button, it's a risky play at best. If he can call, you're toast. And what were you doing while you folded 20 hands that you have no read on the button?

(The spots I pick to defend against steals with trash always seem to be the ones where the "thief" has AA or KK or something, so who knows what my opinion is worth here.)

looks good... above average raises from the button have a high probability of being steals. Good play.
