look i said he tilts and he was tilting this hand. that meant raising the turn with position in a big pot with a big draw. wow yeah really horrid.

His turn play wasn't nearly as bad as his flop play.

im talkin about the flop. calling 2 cold with no pair and 2 backdoor draws is inexcusably horrid.

[/ QUOTE ]hes not even closing the action and it appears that the flop will be threebet and quite likely capped, so this call is really really stupid. turn raise also sucks.

yeah the flop is desperate. he's got what they call a cathop (3 to a straight flush).

here's what happened. i graciously smiled and said good hand as villain raked in the giant pot. abel (not his real name btw) turned to me and said "mike how can you say that? he had nothing on the flop and he called all those bets and then raised with nothing again on the turn. seriously that hand was putrid (or something to that effect)."

i said something like "well the pot was really big already on the flop and he figured if he made his hand he would make even more, sure it wasnt great but it wasnt as wretched as it might appear when the dust settles. it was a good hand to gamble with and he hit a nice river card."

abel looked more confused than ive ever seen him.

you see this is the crap that makes my stomach turn, when he wins with Td8d.

I think I would have called his raise like you did, nodded and said something along the line...

"you had me the whole way."

I suppose you'd rather he fold on the flop?
