I have a 72" inch round table I made from 2 pieces of MDF. I also have a "racetrack" around the outside I made from 2 pieces of oak (don't use oak if you want a ultra smooth surface). It fits 10 comfortably and 11 a bit cramped.

I built a table for six people. A small but nice table. I put lights under the padding. Looks sharp. The lights I got come from a company in Des Moines that sell them for under car bodies. No bulbs to burn out and an excellent even glow unlike rope lights. GReat lights. here is the website if anybody is interested. Email me if any more questions.
