Default An Arguement

Please help settle this arguement. I just sat down at the table and am wondering about river raise.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">4 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (4 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">BB raises</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (4 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">BB bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB calls.

River: (8 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>

What are you wondering about...you likely have the best hand and you like money right?

Did you mean to include some river action in your post?

I guess you could have check called the flop and bet the turn intending to 3-bet if you somehow knew the 9 would come...but that seems a bit impractical.

So you think it's a clear-cut bet on the river? And what happens if he reraises me?

the only reason you wouldn't bet that river was so you could checkraise it. Bet/call.

easy river bet, call a raise

I 3 bet the flop as well, unless hes the type that will cap for a free card, in which case I call flop and donk turn.

Thanks guys-I won the arguement against my newbish brother. I raised, he reraised, I called. Ended up having 46.

You raised or you bet...? unless you are leaving out some of the action the first person to put money in the pot on a given street is said to "bet." You can only "raise" after soemone else has already bet. You know this right?
