i beleive thits hand is read dependent. has the villian been limping w/ lots of hands and betting any flop? if so you can check the bb and check/call the flop & lead the turn.

otherwise i open push here so he doesn't get odds to call with weaker hands.

starts with a "P"

if he wants to play his A-whatever, he has to put in 1300 more chips first.

...considered that. but with a pot equal to 1/3 our stack...taking 6.5bb's to the flop, i don't know how cute we get. best/most likely case - we check, he stabs another 200 at it - we push.

for that reward, we risk an Ace flop...STILL holding t1300 chips, facing a much larger bet perhaps.

1- i don't want to entertain ANY notion of letting this go post-flop
2- i don't want to give him 3-cards, that might a) make his hand, or b) give him a ton of outs to make the correct push call for the turn+river

500 chips here is precisely what we need, to allow us to assert ourself against the now - THREE - shorter stacks.

No. He hasn't limped yet. He has called a couple min-raises in the BB then check/folded. Only plays he has made have been some 3x and 4x in EP.

I pushed. I later questioned my line based on the potential for extracting some chips from the big stack.

I like that line. What do you do when the flop comes Axx?

There's 500 chips in the pot, which is 38% of your stack after posting.

Insta-push and hope that he talks himself into calling. Don't mess around here. The pot is already huge.

Plus, like has already been said, what are you going to do if you get cute, raise less than AI, and the flop comes ace high? Push now while you're a huge favorite, don't underestimate the importance of winning what is already a big pot.
