Default Flopped (sucker) straight getting plenty of action.

Hi folks. Party Poker $25 NL 6 Max...

Im small blind with 7d Tc, 3 limpers, I complete and BB checks.

Flop: 8h 9s Js

I bet $2, MP raises to $4 and button calls. MP and Button have ~$35 i have them covered. I dont know much about MP, he's not been at the table long and i cant remember seeing him raise anything post flop. Button I have a better understanding of, he is actually willing to fold hands he thinks are behind and is willing to bluff occasionally but has been pretty transparent this far. I put him on the flush draw.

What are peoples prefered courses of action here?

At the time i was pretty worried about MP, i chose to raise making it $15 to go. Good/Bad?

MP then pushed all in and the button folded, what should i do here?

Seems to me that his only possible holdings are:
a) a set
b) a flush draw
c) a flush draw + a Q
d) the nuts straight
assuming he most likely would have raised an overpair pre-flop.

If he has a set, then he has 7 outs on the turn and will gain 3 more on the river. You are favored.

If he has a flush draw, that gives him 9 outs, you are favored.

If he has a flush draw with the Q, then he has 9 flush outs, plus 3 tens, for a total of 12 outs, it is basically a race.

If he has the nuts straight, you are drawing dead.

Since you have no real read on him as a dead rock, I would call since you are favored over most of his possible holdings. If you can add AA or KK that he was trying to limp raise, then that makes it an even easier call, but that seems unlikely from MP.

I agree with the above post, you gotta call this, I don't think he is holding the nuts, and if he is well, your SOL, but since your ahead most of the time, this is +EV

Glad you agree. In re-reading this thread, I noticed that you even have three outs for the split if he IS holding the nuts. Just that little bit more reason to call...
