Default bad value bet?

Party 2/4. Only a couple orbits on UTG but he's shown to be pretty tight so far. Is this river a value bet? Looking at this board I'm thinking I should have check/called the river...

PreFlop: <font color="blue">Mister Z</font> is BB with <font color="green">K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]</font> <font color="red">K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]</font> (10 Players)
UTG calls, 3 <font color="darkred">folds</font>, MP2 calls, 3 <font color="darkred">folds</font>, SB calls, <font color="blue">Mister Z</font> <font color="darkgreen">raises</font>, UTG calls, MP2 calls, 1 <font color="darkred">fold</font>,

Flop: (7.00 SB) <font color="green">5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]</font> <font color="green">J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]</font> <font color="black">J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]</font> (3 Players)
<font color="blue">Mister Z</font> <font color="green">bets</font>, UTG calls, MP2 <font color="darkred">folds</font>,

Turn: (4.50 BB) <font color="blue">T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]</font> (2 Players)
<font color="blue">Mister Z</font> <font color="green">bets</font>, UTG calls,

River: (6.50 BB) <font color="green">4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]</font> (2 Players)
<font color="blue">Mister Z</font> <font color="green">bets</font>, UTG <font color="darkgreen">raises</font>, <font color="blue">Mister Z</font> calls,

Final Pot: 10.50 BB

The bet is fine but I don't think you're ever winning against a typical opponent once he raises.

I think this is a pretty clear bet and a pretty clear fold once he raises.

I just want to clarify the reasoning on why it's a clear bet, in case I don't understand the logic.

It's a clear bet because check/call will not extract value often enough when you are ahead, because it will often be checked through by the worse hands with the scary board.

A bet/fold is easy because a bluff raise from UTG is very unlikely and it is almost certain you are behind.

EASY value bet. You'll be called by a ton of worse hands, and many of these will not bet if you check.

good luck.

Thanks everybody. I've gotta avoid being results-oriented when reviewing hands.
