What is funnier?
What is funnier? The folks who constantly complain that Pokerstars is rigged, always typing 'riverstars' or other 'it's fixed' comments: or the folks who claim this and still continue to play there?

How about asking the right followup question.
Which is the better choice:
A) Playing in a "rigged" game where a good player can multitable and make 3BB per hour even if the software "helps" distribute the money. B) Playing live in an honest casino game where the same good player can expect to make 1BB per hour while dealing with some of the other unpleasantries that live poker brings. As I recall a pretty famous old-school poker player was once asked why he continued to play in a game he knew was crooked and his response was "Its still the best game in town". I play 25-30 hours a week, making $35 an hour at a site where I frankly don't believe their shuffle is completely random. I suppose that should be twice as funny to players like you. Now.. you sure you don't want to ask the question again? Pack |

Re: How about asking the right followup question.
People who believe that human intuition can objectively judge whether a shuffle is random are funny too.

Re: How about asking the right followup question.
Packerfan,
I think you kind of missed the point of the original post. I don't believe he is making a comment about the intellingence of players playing in a game they believe to be rigged, but rather, he is commenting about players who constanty COMPLAIN (on forums like this) about the game being rigged (without evidence to support their claim) and yet continue to play. There is a big difference... |

Re: How about asking the right followup question.
Well I expected a little better response from a poster I somewhat respect, used to that is.
Frankly I dont give a crap if you believe I'm a winning player or not. Want me to post my spreadsheet, my PT screens, whatever will make you happy (nothing).. people are going to believe what they want to believe and whether I make $30K, $50K or $70K this year online it doesn't really affect you or any other poster anyways so whats the point. I think I've been on this forum long enough to earn a small amount of respect from others. Obviously you think differently. Just because someone doesn't blindly close their eyes and put 100% faith and trust in an online rooms shuffle doesnt make me a bad guy or a kook. So go fck your "freaking hilarious" comment, it has no basis, and frankly you're just being a rude [censored]. Like you, I play, I win, I lose, I run bad, I run good. At the end of the year, theres X dollars there all the time. I don't complain publicly that any site is rigged against me. Does it really fcking matter if the software is random or not? Does it!? Cause what matter to me (and most good poker players) is the $$ in the bank account each month. Period. Pack Clowns probably believe everything the media and government tells you too. Sheesh. How's that return visit to the moon coming along? Edited: Your post is more understandable now that I see in your profile that you've "worked for" several online sites. Typical "defend at all cost" BS you'd expect to hear from even the most crookedest sites around. "Freaking Hilarious" huh, well I'm glad I entertain you. Jerj. |

Re: How about asking the right followup question.
You just have to accept that anyone who makes a "site X is rigged" is going to be ridiculed, as they should be. Pokerstars and other sites make way too much money to risk it all by getting a few extra bucks in cheating their customers. I've had more bad beats in B&M casinos than online myself...

Re: How about asking the right followup question.
Thats fine and I agree. Which is why I didn't say site X is rigged, and actually I wasn't talking about Stars at all since I just don't play there.
I do take offense to someone who defends an un(in?)defensable position (both positions are un(in)defensable by the way, which is why a rash of "XX is rigged" posts happen ever 20 days or so - right now, neither side can prove anything either way so its just a giant clusterfck) coming out and saying "You're a winning player? Hah! Thats a good laugh" when there is solid, irrefutable evidence that can prove that its true. Its just stupid and rude and frankly theres enough of that in America without having to read it here. I also dont' think its outrageous to conceive that some of the software out there, which was designed BEFORE the poker boom and before everyone and their grandma and 50,000 other peoples grandmas played poker online and when an additional 10, 20, 50% in rake would have helped keep the site alive, was designed to be less than random. I'm sure everyone believes that all the casino Blackjack and other software out there is totally 100% random too, right? The bottom line remains, it really doesn't matter what the truth is. As long as the money is good, good players like us will be there. I just think its extremely niave to think its impossible that it could be happening (and if it is on some sites, they probably don't even know their software does that cause it was designed by someone else.) Re: What is funnier?
My favorite is when you're sitting at a table and nothing out of the ordinary happens for like an hour, then someone finally hits a two outer and everyone starts saying, "that's Party for you."

the other day i was in a tourney that was about half way through 800 people. long story short i wind up heads up all in preflop with JJ vs his AA.
flop come A rag rag turn J river J and he was eliminated(i swear this is a true story) he started cussing me and the site. i told him i worked there and turned off my chat. i couldnt stop giggling. that is the most insane beat i have ever seen. |
