Default Why move up?

I've been playing poker online for a little over a year now. I started at the penny stakes with a $100 bankroll. I've worked my way up to .50/1.00. My goal is to get to the 5/10 tables but after reading this forum for the last two months I don't know if I really want to be there. If I can make 10 BB/100 at 100NL but only 2 BB/100 at 500NL, why move up? I don't have hand histories for my 25NL hands, but I feel like the variance was a lot less (I easily beat those games).

Should I just stay at the level at which I'm most profitable (even if it's 25NL) or should I continue to strive for the 5/10 or even 10/20 tables?

If you move up, you will find yourself developing more as a poker player as predictable ABC play will not win you much money in the bigger games. Whenever you move up in stakes, expect a drop in your BB/100 as you become accustomed to the game. Then as you get more experience, your win rate and poker ability will increase.

I just dragged a 1,000 cent pot. I admit the thrill is more than its cracked up to be.

Q.) Why stick with one really good lay for your whole life when there are lots of different women out there?

A.) Extraneous factors (developing something deeper, intimate knowledge of the game, pride in what you have become)

Yes, this is a stretch, but my immediate answer of "personal preference" was boring.

Are your plans to be a 50yo 'professional poker player' (multi tabling nickle and dime games online)?

Wait, your's isn't? Man, I dream of living at home with 3 big screen tvs, one showing nonstop sports, and the other two my 8 tables. Once you get the comfy chair with a built-in fridge and a wife to make you snacks you have it made in the shade.
