Hell yeah, we need the crew from Major League to come in to provide color:

Harry Doyle: Monte, anything to add?
Monte: Uh, no.
Harry Doyle: He's not the best colorman in the league for nothing.

Harry: Take over Monte, I'm in the bag.
Monte: fly ball.......caught.

awesome.

YES!

Too high! Too Far! Who gives a [censored]? It's gone.

Cerrano's gonna need a rocket up his ass to catch that one.

Hell of a situation we got here. Two on, two out, your team down a run and you've got the chance to be the hero on national television... if you don't blow it. Saw your wife last night. Great little dancer. That guy she was with? I'm sure he's a close personal friend, but tell me, what was he doing with her panties on his head?

I can't tell you how many times me and my friends have used some form of that line while playing sports/video games

I hate the ones who blatantly love one team and are just shameless in how they favor them on non-local broadcasts (local guys should be for the home team). I hate constant references to Bret Favre's thumb, all the trouble he plays through, and how nothing bad can ever be said about him or the way he pretty much tosses up a minimum of 4 retard pick-me-off throws every game. I'm sick of hearing about the Frozen Tundra. I can't believe that Stuart Scott still occasionally says "cool as the other side of the pillow." I can't stand people refering to any game as war or a battle or to the players as soldiers.

More than anything, I'm hating the attitude that a lot of the tv personalities are starting to get - that they're so badass and that what they did (when they played) was so hard-core. It's getting to be a pissing contest all the time with them all feeling the need to make sure everybody knows how manly they are. This tends to happen most with the football guys (NFL and college) on ESPN. Get off it.

BOO YAH! I hate Stuart Scott. English please.

Plus anything by Berman, that bloated windbag! His act is tired.

I think Al Michaels started this one.

"Third and a long 2"
or
"Third and a short 3"

Have we forgotten Dennis miller on Monday Night Football already.

The one I remember is someone doing commentary and after his description of the play Dennis says, "That was surreal."

Idiot.

A few years ago a Sports Illustrated columnist (I think it was Rick Reilly) did a column around the start of the NCAA basketball tournament made up entirely of college basketball announcer cliches. It was hysterical; I wish I could find it.

3. Gets it (maybe a local chicago thing, but meaning that the player/GM/whomever understands the correct whatever.

This one drives me insane also.

In football I hate it when I hear analysis like "if the team is going to win thy're going to have to rush the ball over 30 times."

Listen asshle, you know why the team is so successful when they run the ball over 30 times? it's because they had a lead in the 4th quarter and were running out the clock. It's the whole causation/correlation mix-up thing that bugs me.

You know when Payton Manning passes for more than 450 yards his team has never lost?

Also when Tomlinson rushes for 150 yards his team has gone 12-1

All keys to success.

Every single ESPN guy uses the non-word trickeration when there is a trick play in a football game. Annoying as hell.

This isn't really about announcers, though they say it as well, but why do the refs say "prior to the snap..false start." No kidding? Are they sure it wasn't after the snap?
