88 final table hand
Final table, payout structure is
1st - 240 2nd - 150 3rd - 90 4th - 66 5th - 54 Table is playing tight, lots of minraising and only 2 other players I've been push so far with < 10bb. But also some donks are limping in with stuff like A7, KQ. With this payout structure is it worth it to fold and wait for a higher pair, AK to push my chips. Blinds going up every 10 minutes, about 5 minutes before they go up again. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (10 handed) converter UTG+2 (t2234) MP1 (t24584) MP2 (t7071) MP3 (t11008) CO (t8444) Button (t6853) SB (t8930) BB (t4958) UTG (t16738) Hero (t8930) Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. |

Re: 88 final table hand
I fold and wait for a better spot. You're not that desperate yet.

Re: 88 final table hand
I'd push.
You're not going to fold into the money, and you're still a long way. You may have to make some harder decisions when its your blind if you don't have a big stack so I'd go now with the hand. |

Re: 88 final table hand
With EIGHT people to act behind you, your push is going to get called too often here. IŽd much prefer to fold and push something less strong in late position with 3 people behind me. Like Jex said, you arent THAT desperate, but you do need to make a move for some blinds in the next orbit.
Yeah youŽre playing for first and all of that, but this isnt a good spot. Kings |

Re: 88 final table hand
Does your answer change if it's 99 or TT? How about AK-AQ?

Re: 88 final table hand
99-77 in EP with 10-12xBB is a situation where there is no consensus and pretty much never going to be one. Some people open fold, some push, some limp, some raise (I think this is probably the worst, since if you raise you are almost always going to get the odds to call a push).
Personally, I'd toss 77, push 99 and flip a coin with eights and then shrug and push because I like having a bigger stack. No biggie if you lose this one. |

Re: 88 final table hand
Im not sure a limp here isnt a bad idea. Sure it might get raised behind you, but often a UTG limp shows strength. Hope to hit a set or see some low cards and then maybe push. i dont think you can raise without pushing, and i think thats bad because there are too many people behind you. Hell you still have over 10 bbs no point in pushing with an average hand yet. Wait for a better spot
