Default media center

if you use a pc to record, playback and made dvd's of tv, what do you need to do it with hdtv? are there hd tuners for pc's? what if you are using satellite?

I've been playing around with PC/TV tuner cards the last week or so. The way I see it is if you have an HDTV signal through your cable company, you can record TV, Movies and shows with an HDTV tuner card as opposed to a standard card. Then if you want to watch it on an HDTV get a video card for your PC that has a hdtv "out" signal.

I just got an ATI TV Wonder Elite which seems to be a great TV card, not hd though.

as far as I know satellite works too.
