I check behind. An Ace might lead, or raise the flop. An 8/7 would give on the turn.
FD is certainly reasonable - which of course he's not folding. nh

also:

defn: value bet (val-U b-et) - english - origins unknown:

a bet with positive expectation in instances when called.

this does not appear to be one.

Right. Easy question I guess. Villian showed A-6o so I was questioning it.

Just curious - what percentage of the time are you limping 99 from 2nd position?

At these blinds? Probably close to 100%.

Interesting. You're not concerned with encouraging hands like Ax, KXs, KJ, KT, QJ, QT, JT to limp? There may be some pretty good odds for marginal hands with overcards to get in the pot with you, especially if 3rd position limps too. I would think 99 would be at least 50/50 call/raise here. Hope I'm not hijacking the thread - I think the poster's original question got answered.

I play 99 purely for set value in EP in the early levels, so I want limpers. I might open raise around back. Can't say this is "right", it's just what I've found works best for me.
