Hero checks, BB bets t800, Hero calls t800.

River: (t2875) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets t2000, Hero folds.

Final Pot: t4875

Or a better question should I lead the turn and fold to a reraise? Calling looks bad now that I think about it.

Really the only hand that beats you that is likely is the turned flush and QJ I guess. And J9 obviously. Would he raise KJ preflop after you completed? Other than that, you're good. Lower jacks, counterfeited two pair, missed straight draws (perhaps then leading to missed flush draw) are all possible holdings in contrast to the XhXh, QJ, KJ, J9 that beat you.

I think if you're going to call his turn bet, you have to call his river bet. Does the fact that the river was a 9 make a difference to you?

As for leading the turn, I don't like it if for no other reason than you're inflating the pot size in a hand where you already have no clue where you stand. I'm definitely check/calling both turn and river or folding the turn.

edit: I guess he could also have something like 59 which justifies the flop call. But I don't know.
