I didn't start winninig until after reading "Small Stakes Holdem" and then combining that with "Holdem for advanced players" so the advice in those books is essential. But what did it for me was this quote...

"I'd bust my own grandmother if she played poker with me." - Unkown ...

tell me what you think

Some advice that I liked:
Don't complain about losing during a live game, most don't care and the rest wish you were losing more...
Don't humiliate bad players, many won't come back...
In an interview, Doyle Brunson talked about a bet he made, he was then asked "But what if you got raised?" Doyle answered "If I worried about getting raised, I wouldn't bet nearly enough."

I think it's from Caro in SuperSystem 2, but it's

'On the flop, don't watch the flop, watch the players'

Pokey, you are a poke-losopher. This was virtually perfect. (I'm leaving myself an out in case I think of something later.

The best advise I can give you is " if you don't flop it drop it."

In NLHE: play aggressive. See many flops, bet when you sense weakness.
In all other forms of Poker: play solid. play the best hands but play them aggressively
To be a consistent winner, one must play aggressive.
